Bluff

  Most people want some more Of what I want less of I've been near and far I see all that's messed up Big house, fancy cars You must have worked real hard They don't take you half as far As being pure of heart Buy some then buy some more Do you know where it comes from? Who are you making poor? When the world functions as one I have seen enough You don't need that stuff Now the jig is up It's yourself you bluff I'm doing what I can To be an honest man But to live well and do well Don't always go hand in hand When will they all wake up? When the fires reach their door When the ocean's all choked up And they can fish no more I know that change is slow But this stuff's gotta go As the world rocks to and fro Don't act like you don't know That you've seen enough The weather's getting rough The light will wake you up It's time you call your bluff

Love Flows

  I took a walk by the river Under a blue sky And wispy clouds I took a walk out of time To a simple place Of possibilities I stood and watched the riffles As the water churned My spirit dreamed Do you feel energy from the earth and the trees? Leaves rustle in the breeze Loves flows just as it pleases Standing in the water Dragonfly passes by A kingfisher cries Roaming through the forest Where beauty thrives Imagination flies And love flows through you and through me Like rivers to the sea Thrushes weave magic whirling sonic tapestries

  We have left the place that brought us about Paved it over and shut it out The knowledge tucked away in seldom-opened books Most of it remains, but people hardly look Depleted and constrained, recklessly destroyed Inhabitants left to waste in the void Consequences... are ignored Bigger picture... is in the dark Why does it have to be, why does it have to be... this way? Why is there so much greed, why is there so much greed? What makes you think that you deserve more than anyone else? Are you really happy with all your wealth? All I have left to say to you my friend... What do you want there to be left in the end? Are you still too thick to see... that what's done to that place is done to you and me? Listen

  Something's coming; It's gonna be great. Blackbirds are calling; It's a brand new day, I feel the sunlight Kissin' my face. I am ready;  I've got what it takes. Hop on in; We're going for a drive. Hang on tight; It's a bumpy ride. Where we go depends on what's inside. You paint the scene,  So take it in stride. Down muddy trails, Across rivers deep, Along ocean shores, Atop mountain peaks, The world is vast: What do you seek? Pick up the brush; Show me next week. Listen

  Staring out at swaying pine trees As the traffic cruises by A hawk comes swooping into sight How I wish that I could fly I like to sit and daydream But much more than that I need to live my life So that I feel alive Staring at maps and windows Imagination thrives But the sole is restless Take it for a ride I'm way past waiting As you can see Hoping the whole wold Catches up with me The future lies ahead You and I and All Determine what it will be So wake up 'cause if we fall asleep, we all fall I'm way past waiting As you can see Hoping that the world Will set me free Bright red tail The feathers catch my eye Oh how nice it must be To spread those wings and fly Listen
